This Privacy Policy describes how FREED ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the FREED mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information — email address and display name when you create an account
- Health & quit data — your quit date, nicotine product type, usage frequency, and daily cost
- Journal entries — text you write in the in-app journal
- Craving logs — timestamps, triggers, mood, and intensity when you log cravings
- Reasons & goals — your personal reasons for quitting and savings goals
Information collected automatically
- Push notification token — to send you reminders and milestone alerts (stored on our servers)
- Subscription status — whether you have an active FREED Pro subscription
- App usage — streak data, confirmation history, and feature interactions
Information from third parties
- Apple / Google — if you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, optionally, your name and email from those providers
- RevenueCat — our payment processor handles subscription purchases. RevenueCat may collect device identifiers and purchase history. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and personalise the App's core features (streaks, craving tracking, savings calculations)
- Send you push notifications (daily reminders, milestone celebrations, weekly summaries) — you can disable these at any time in Settings
- Sync your data across devices
- Process subscription purchases
- Respond to support requests and account deletion requests
- Improve the App through anonymised, aggregated analytics
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Accountability Partners
If you use the accountability partner feature, your display name and streak status are visible to your partner. Your email address, journal entries, craving details, and financial data are never shared with partners.
4. Data Storage & Security
- Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure, hosted on AWS (us-east-1)
- Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted on-device storage (iOS Secure Enclave / Android Keystore)
- All data in transit is encrypted via TLS
- Row-Level Security (RLS) is enforced on all database tables — your data is only accessible to you
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data is permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Correction — update your information via Settings
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Delete profile & data
- Portability — request an export of your data
- Opt out of notifications — toggle off in Settings at any time

7. Children's Privacy
FREED is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
