Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the FREED mobile application ("App") operated by us.

By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. About FREED

FREED is a nicotine cessation support tool designed to help you track your quit journey, log cravings, and build accountability. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use FREED. By using the App you represent that you meet this age requirement.

3. Your Account

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account
  • You may not use another person's account without permission
  • Notify us immediately at support@freedfromnicotine.app if you suspect unauthorised access to your account

4. FREED Pro Subscription

Billing

  • FREED Pro is offered as a monthly or annual auto-renewing subscription
  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period

Free Trial

  • If a free trial is offered, it will be specified at the point of purchase
  • Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription

Cancellation & Refunds

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription management settings (Apple ID → Subscriptions, or Google Play → Subscriptions)
  • Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain access until then
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective policies. We do not issue refunds directly

Price Changes

  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. We will give you reasonable advance notice of any price increase

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App or its infrastructure
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm other users (including via the accountability partner feature)
  • Submit false or misleading information

6. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create in the App (journal entries, craving notes, etc.). By using the App, you grant us a limited licence to store and process that content solely to provide the service to you.

We do not review user-generated content and are not responsible for it.

7. Health Disclaimer

FREED is a wellness and habit-tracking tool, not a substitute for professional medical advice. Nicotine dependence is a medical condition. If you are experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms or health issues, please consult a qualified healthcare professional.

The App does not guarantee that you will successfully quit nicotine. Results vary by individual.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in the App — including design, graphics, text, and code — is owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $10 USD, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our discretion if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete profile & data.

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ireland.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via push notification or in-app alert. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
